opportunities on the water
The reservoir will be a 1,500 acre lake in King William County that offers a myriad of recreational options for county and state residents. The project allows for the county to develop five or more public recreation sites on the lake, as well as a park at the intake site.

The City will pay for construction of the first park. Activities and facilities could include fishing, boating, canoeing, swimming, hiking, camping, horseback riding, picnicking, archery, and eco-trails – possibly even an interpretive center for local history, culture and natural resources. The recreation areas can also provide a location for local and regional events and festivals. The City’s five existing reservoirs are vivid examples of the amenities available with such a lake.
